Stephen M. McLaughlin Memorial Lectureship - The Stephen McLaughlin Memorial Lectureship was created as a tribute to past SDMS President Stephen McLaughlin for his service to the SDMS and to promote sonographer professionalism within the healthcare community. Joan P. Baker Pioneer Award - The Joan P. Baker Pioneer Award honors a sonographer who has made a unique and outstanding contribution to the sonography profession. Established in 1994 to honor the significant contributions of Joan P. Baker to the sonography profession, this award is given when a sonographer’s focused contribution has advanced the profession and increased the knowledge and/or welfare of sonographers.
