2018 SDMS Fellows Inducted at the 2018 SDMS Annual Conference

The Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) is proud to announce the induction of Margaret Park, BS, RDCS, RVT, ACS, FSDMS, FASE and Michelle Wilson, EdD, RDMS, RDCS, FSDMS as SDMS Fellows. 

Fellow designation is the highest honor the Society can bestow on a member. An SDMS Fellow exhibits professional qualities and attributes by contributing to the advancement of sonography and supporting the SDMS. Each year, the membership at-large submits nominations for the coveted SDMS Fellow membership. The newly inducted SDMS Fellows will be honored October 5, 2018, at the SDMS and SDMS Foundation Awards Dinner during the 2018 SDMS Annual Conference. 

Margaret M. Park, also known as “Koko”, is an imaging specialist and researcher at the Cleveland Clinic. She has been in the sonography field for over thirty years working in various roles throughout her career including clinical sonographer, researcher, instructor, trainer, manager, technical director, and imaging of animals. A member of SDMS since 1982, she has volunteered on several SDMS task forces and committees, including the Research Institute Task Force. She is the 2017 recipient of the American Society of Echocardiography Lifetime Achievement Award. Locally, she is a founding member of the Northern Ohio Cardiac Imaging Association and an active board member of the Northern Ohio Vascular Association.

After earning her undergraduate degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography from Seattle University, 23 years ago, Michelle began practicing sonography at Stanford’s Perinatology center. She continued her graduate education at the University of Wyoming where she studied Instructional Technology and obtained her Doctorate Degree in Adult Education. She has been involved in sonography education for 16 years in both a formal educational setting as well as endeavors such as building mobile apps, webinars, and web sites offering CME’s and practice certification exams. She has authored many sonography and educational related articles as well as text book chapters.
