Committee Objectives

1. Develop the model, including qualification requirements, for sonographer advanced practice and create a “White Paper” reflecting this model for publication.
2. Work with the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRC-DMS) for acceptance of the SDMS Sonography Advanced Practice model.
3. Collaborate with other ultrasound professional associations to approach the nationally recognized sonography credentialing organizations to request development of a national sonographer advanced practice examination.
